Monogramming Workshop
Location: Taobh na Mara, 29 Marina Apartments, Shore Street, Lossiemouth IV31 6FH
Date: Monday 13th November 2023
Duration: 4.5 hours, 10am-2.30pm (including 30 min lunch break)
Learn the art of monogramming, a time-honoured and intricate skill of hand-embroidering letters. Personalise your own belongings, or customise a unique and memorable gift for someone special.
Suitable for beginners, I will take you step by step through the process of traditional monogramming throughout the workshop. I will guide you through setting your frame, transferring the selected letters to fabric utilising the traditional prick and pounce method. Throughout the classes, I will talk you through various fonts, how to form your lettering, discuss angles, changing stitches and how to approach the letters. You will learn the fundamental embroidery stem stitch on block font, and progress onto outline and satin stitch utilising stitch font.
All materials will be provided for the class, however if you wish to purchase your own kit, please purchase this separately through the website when booking the class (please select ‘monogramming embroidery kit’).
